Seussical the Musical

South Newton Pre K through second grade students enjoyed a performance of Seussical the Musical by Newton Conover High School Chorus and Theater Arts students.  What a treat!  Thank you to N-CHS for coming to South Newton for an encore performance.

Career Day 2014
On Friday, April 18, South Newton students enjoyed learning about interesting careers. Guest speakers included a farmer, a veterinarian, a fireman, a deputy sheriff, a respiratory therapist, a weatherman, a pharmacist, a department store manager, a therapist, and members of the SWAT team.

Visitor
Well, would you look who "hopped" in for a visit with our pre-kindergarten students for their Muscular Dystrophy Hop-a-thon? Our superintendent, Dr. David Stegall! Thank you, Dr. Stegall, for being "all ears" for our youngest South Newton tigers and for supporting their charitable efforts!

Look who stopped by for a visit at South Newton! The Tooth Fairy! Each February, the American Dental Association (ADA) sponsors National Children's Dental Health Month to raise awareness about the importance of oral health. Nurse Jennifer does all she can to educate our students about good dental habits. We love you, Nurse Jennifer!

Newton Youth Leadership Visits South Newton
Newton Mayor Anne Stedman, City Manager Todd Clark, and six seniors from Newton-Conover High School visited South Newton. Mayor Stedman and the NCHS students spoke with 5th graders about the importance of staying away from drugs and the importance of making good choices in school and in life. Special "Thanks!" to these wonderful role models for taking the time to visit, inform, and encourage our 5th grade tigers!
