Leader in Me
The Leader in Meáis a school-wide model based on Stephen Covey'sá7 Habits of Happy Kids. This model promotes a school culture built on leadership and community. The goal is to create a learning environment focused onáthe whole individual and his or her place in the classroom and in the community at large.

South Newton is just beginning the first year of implementation. Faculty and staff attended four intensive days of training during the summer of 2014 in preparation for school-wideádeployment in the 2014-2015 school year. Everyone is eager to model and to teach the 7 Habits to each and every child in our school family! Stay tuned on our progress by clicking on the page link on the left.
A great big "THANK YOU!" to Chief Kevin Yoder and volunteers from the Newton Fire Department for coming to the rescue at the last minute to wash our parking lots and sidewalks before Open House! Also, many thanks to Deputy Chief áMajor Tim Hayes (Newton Police Departmentáand member of theáNCCSáBoard of Education), Captain Mike Sullivan (Newton Police), Todd Clark (Newton City Manager), Dr. Sylvia White (Director of Human Resources atáNCCS), and Robin Rudisill, (Director of Maintenance at NCCS)! Grrrrrreat job, everyone!
